The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has flagged off the groundbreaking construction of 32km Garkida-Dabna road worth N6.3 billion in Adamawa State.
The Managing Director of NEDC, Mohammed Goni Alkali stated this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the project on Monday in Garkida.
He said the project would improve mobility, connect other communities, enhance livelihood and improve security and agricultural productivity.
Alkali explained that the commission was constructing the phase 1 22.5km N13.553 billion Jere-Bowl.

The MD listed other projects to include the 53km Gombe Abba – Kirfi road in Bauchi State at the cost of N11.697 billion and the 54km Mutai – Ngalda road in Yobe at the cost of N12.99 billion.
The NEDC had also inaugurated a police station and its quarters that was destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents just as it monitored the 2.5km road project at the College of Education, Hong.
“The project would be handled by TRIACTA Nigeria Ltd with a completion period of 12 months,” he said.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by his deputy, Crowther Seth, lauded the initiative of the NEDC, adding that it will enhance security in the region and urged for more collaborations.
