Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 30-year-old pregnant woman, Evelyn Aniekem, with 1,161kg of Indian hemp in Abbi town, Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State.
Spokesman of the agency, Femi Babafemi, who disclosed this on Sunday, also said that on December 5, officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, intercepted parcels of cocaine weighing 2.70kg concealed in different parts of a bag brought into Nigeria from Brazil via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight by one Nwadinobi Charles Uchemadu.

At the SAHCO export shed of the airport the same day, NDLEA operatives intercepted cans of powdered milk, baby food and beverages used to conceal 3.4kg of hemp going to Dubai, UAE and a freight agent, Ewelike Chibuike Cyril, was arrested.
In the same vein, according to Babafemi, parcels of hemp weighing 6.30kg concealed in loudspeakers going to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, were seized on Thursday, December 8, and a freight agent, Joseph Obiji, was arrested.
