3 die in Jigawa road crash

At least three people were confirmed dead following a road crash involving supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa on their way to the flag-off of the party’s campaign in Dutse, the state capital.

 Daily Trust gathered that the accident happened on Tuesday at Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area of the state with the victims identified as Shuaibu Horo; Salisu Dan-Nepa; and Yunusa Danboka all from the Kirikassamma Local Government Area of the state.

 Six others who also sustained injuries from the crash were said to be responding to treatment at the Kafin-Hausa Hospital.

 While the party continued with its campaign flag-off ceremony, its gubernatorial candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido in a Facebook post afterward, consoled the families of the deceased persons.

 He posted a statement on Facebook reading in parts: “I am sending my condolences to the family and friends of my supporters who lost their lives in an accident on their way to Dutse for the campaign flagging.”
