Sha’aban dumps APC after losing at court

Alhaji Sani Sha’aban, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Kaduna state and in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari, has resigned from the party.

Sha’aban had filed a suit at a Federal High Court in the state, challenging the legality of the May 24 primary that produced Senator Uba Sani as the APC governorship candidate.

He alleged that the primary was conducted without legal and due delegates.

Sha’aban’s resignation letter was read by his campaign director, Barrister Joshua Danladi Ephraim at a news briefing on Monday in Kaduna.

“I have come to the firm conclusion and resolve that in all good conscience, I cannot remain a member of the APC under the present state of affairs.

“I, Sani Mamood Sha’aban, has officially and formerly resigned my membership of the APC at all levels, today 28 November 2022,” he said.

Sha’aban said he was still consulting with his supporters on his next line of action.

He said his resignation from the party would not stop him from pursuing his case against Uba Sani’s nomination at the Appeal Court.
