The Headmistress of the Kado-Kuchi Primary School in Jahi FCT, Edith Arhannhunde, has called on well-to-do Nigerians to help in rehabilitating the school for children in the community to learn in a conducive environment.
Edith who made the appeal when a religious group, Abuja Prayer Ground, donated school materials to the school said it is not easy coming to a school where the place is rough and the learning environment is not conducive for the children.
While stating that the donation would be useful to the pupils, she urged well spirited individuals to come and assist in renovating buildings that are falling, to put a smile on the faces of the children.
“I keep on asking anybody that comes in to please support the children and the school so that they will have materials to learn. The government can not do it all; they have tried in providing the school for the community so it is left for individuals to take care of the children because they are the future leaders. So let them come and support these children and together we can build the country and we will all live at peace.”

She added that failure to cater for the children would lead them to crimes “and carry guns to run after the leaders of the country that didn’t take care of them. This is the way to help this child for us not to face calamity that would spur insecurity”
Speaking, the coordinator of Abuja Prayer Ground, Nicholas Utsalo, said it made the donations to the school because it observed that basic materials like a white board is not used to teach the children.
“We saw the primary school as a project that we could take on because we believe that education is the bedrock of any society so we felt it would be our way of giving back and supporting the children to become better leaders for tomorrow.”
