Govts urged on effective commitment to climate law implementation

The Principal of Hillside School Gwarinpa, Ihuoma To-Anadu, has called on all tiers of government to intensify more effort to implement the Climate Change Act.

She made the call Friday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the sidelines of a two-day sensitization program, themed, ‘Proper Waste Disposal and Rising Need for Climate Change Awareness’.

President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Climate Change Bill into law in November 2021.

The Act paves the way for environmental and economic accounting and a push for a net zero emission deadline plan in the country.

To-Anadu said there is need for collaboration among government at all levels and stakeholders to galvanise support for effective monitoring and implementation of the Act.
