FCT council names major drive after Nigeria’s Air Chief

The Chief of Air Staff in the country Air Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao has been recognised for his leadership efforts and commitment to Community development by the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

The Council in a letter of approval signed by its Chief Revenue Officer Mr Danlami Awaje named a major drive within the Municipal after the Air Chief in appreciation of his contributions to national development.

The letter said the recognition is a way of expressing the Council’s appreciation for his commitment to the nation’s security as well as his community development efforts.

The letter said the over three kilometres drive will now bear “Isiaka Oladayo Amao Drive”, adding that this would help entrench his name as a true friend of the council.

“He now falls within the ranks of notable Nigerians whose names have been immortalised through the naming of streets, avenues, close and drives in the fast developing nation’s capital city,” the letter added.

Section 7 and the 4th schedule of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, Local Government Act CAP 12 , LFN 2004 on street naming and House numbering Bye laws (11). 2012 of AMAC) empowers Local Government Area as well as Area Councils to name streets as well as number houses after deserving citizens.
