A Federal High Court in Dutse, Jigawa State, has nullified the election of Muhammad Haruna Idris, who was earlier declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Kazaure Constituency of the state House of Assembly.
Delivering judgement, Justice Hassan Dikko said the court was satisfied that Haruna did not satisfy the requirement for contesting the election based on the school certificates he presented.
“Also, the court was satisfied that some of the delegates were disenfranchised during the primary election,” he said.
In view of this, the court declared Barrister Bala Hamza Gada, the complainant in the suit, as the winner of the election.
