President Buhari deserves commendation

It’s obvious that the Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has done much in the areas of security, especially in the North East.

Prior to 2015, Borno, Yobe and Adamawa were citadels of Boko Haram. They raided, killed, and abducted people at will. They also sometimes, razed down entire communities.

Most, if not all of these criminalities by the remnants of Boko Haram have been put to a halt.  Because of the sobriety of military strategy and operations, Boko Haram insurgents have been decimated and are now scattered.

Thousands of ex-Boko Haram members have surrendered to the Nigerian Armed Forces and are still surrendering. This is sufficient to prove that the fight against Boko Haram insurgents has been won and the activities of the few, who mainly specialise  in hit and run cannot stand the test of time.

Today, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe are among the peaceful states in Nigeria because this government is working to restore peace and normality. In this regard, President Buhari deserves credit and profound appreciation for keeping to his words of ensuring that peace returned to these states.

I urge the president to replicate what he has accomplished in the North East in the North West to ease their suffering from the hands of bandits and kidnappers.

Finally, President Buhari should have it in mind that safeguarding lives and properties of the people is his primary responsibility, hence, he must work out everything feasible to see that Nigerians enjoy some atmosphere of serenity.
