He said politics was rather one of the best ways to bring development to humanity if practiced according to the rules.

Shima challenged the youth to join politics with a view to channelling their youthful energy into enhancing political reforms that would deepen the country’s democracy for rapid development.

“I advice all of you not to stay away from politics due to the belief by many that it is a dirty game.

“Politics is not a dirty game. It is rather one of the best ways of solving human problems because it encourages dialogue, equity and fairness among members of the society.

“You cannot continue to hold such belief. If you want things to be done right in this country, rise up, join hands, let us correct the wrongs together,’’ he said.

Shima commended Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba for carrying the youth along in his administration.

He urged the youth to support Ishaku’s rescue mission to enable him succeed in delivering on his campaign promises for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, Mr Nelson Gambo, the CYON President commended Shima for always prioritising the interest of youth.

Gambo urged the youth to shun social vices and support constituted authorities for a peaceful society.

In his comment, Rev. Ephraim Kwanchi, the Taraba Chairman, Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said youth participation would bring about vibrancy into politics for the good of the nation.

He also urged the youth to support the ongoing fight against insurgency and corruption so as to sanitise the country and pave way for meaningful developments. (NAN)
