Non-food Items included mats, mosquito nets, soap and clothing.
Speaking at the event, the agency’s Deputy Director of Budget, Yakubu Suleiman, said the agency felt it was proper to deliver the materials and also in good time so that those affected could have timely succour.
In his response, the Plateau State Deputy Governor, Prof Sonni Tyoden, commended NEMA for their support and kind gesture, assuring that the state government would keep the partnership going.
Tyoden, however, raised concern over federal legislators who often used their offices to solicit support for vulnerable persons in their states, but that whenever they were given they channelled them to their constituencies without the engagement of the state emergency agencies.
