FCT-IRS disowns employment letters in circulation

The Federal Capital Territory-Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) has distanced itself from fake appointment letters being circulated.

The service, in a statement Tuesday by its Head of Corporate Communications, Mustapha Sumaila, said such letters were aimed at defrauding Nigerians.

He said, ‘’FCT-IRS is not recruiting presently and hence cautions the public to be careful not to fall victims to those scammers and unscrupulous elements.

“FCT-IRS does not sell employment and whoever demands money for a job in the name of the service is a fraudster. Therefore, you are advised to report such a person or group to the appropriate authorities.”

Adding that, “Anyone who patronises such fraudsters does that at his or her own peril.”
