Buhari, Amina Mohammed, others to speak at directors’ conference

President Muhammadu Buhari will next Thursday declare open, the 2022 Annual Directors’ Conference; while the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, will be a keynote speaker.

Chairman, National Organising Committee, Alhaji Lamis Dikko, stated this in Abuja Tuesday when he led a delegation from the Institute of Directors to the corporate head office of Media Trust Group.

The theme of the conference is ‘Corporate Governance and Digital Transformation: Leading Purposefully for Growth and Stability’.

Also expected at the conference are the Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo; Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State as guests of honour.

Dikko said the conference would examine and review the importance of leadership and the role it plays in the development of digital transformation strategies for organisations.

According to him, “the emergence of fourth industrial revolution, which is essentially driven by information technology, the effect, and challenges thrusted on the world by the COVID-19 pandemic, have combined to alter the requisites skills of leaders that can guide organisations through the trying and unprecedented times that organisations have found themselves.”

“Today’s leaders must be dynamic and possess visions for a technology-driven future and be prepared to purposefully lead these complex and innovative transformations. It suffices to say business leaders must disrupt now before they themselves are disrupted.”
