The Deputy Director of the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof Ado Yusuf, was on Friday declared missing.
A family source said that Prof Yusuf, on Friday, parked his car at a bakery on Sokoto Road, Samaru, Zaria, to buy bread and that since then he had not been seen.

Recall that Prof Yusuf’s wife was abducted at his residence in Zangon Shanu, Samaru, about two weeks ago and has not been released yet.
Confirming the incident, another relative who reported the incident to the police, Abdusalam Yusuf, said the professor of soil fertility was suspected to have been kidnapped.
He said, “When we didn’t see him return home at the time he normally returns, we remembered that he said he was going to buy bread at the bakery. When we got to the bakery, we saw his car but he was nowhere to be found.
“So we reviewed the bakery’s CCTV and it showed that he went into the bakery’s mall alone and bought a loaf of bread and came out alone.”
“I, therefore, reported to the police that he was missing because we called all the contacts of where we assume he would be but to no avail.”
He added that, “We are afraid whether it is the same abductors that kidnapped his wife two weeks ago that decided to come after him too.”
Effort to hear from the institute and the university proved was not successful.
