FG tasks Nigerians in diaspora on good conduct

The Federal Government has urged Nigerians in the diaspora to emulate compatriots making the nation proud in their host countries.

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, made the call at the weekend in Abuja at the Annual Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.

The event featured Tracy Eboigbodin, a 28-year-old woman from Verona, Italy, of Nigerian (Edo State) origin, who won the 11th series of MasterChef Italia 2022.

“This is one of the best news we would have, coming from Italy as against the backdrop of all the bad news we have been hearing about Nigerians in Italy. Thank God for this beautiful news. She’s here to break the ice and turn things around.

“And I believe this is the beginning of many good things about Nigerian women in Italy. She has opened new doors and closing bad sides of the stories,” Tallen said.

The minister said many women, in partnership with the United Nations, the African Union and other development partners, had been empowered in income activities to change their lives for the better.
