2 Kaduna LGAs declared open defecation-free

The Director General (DG) of the Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Engineer Mubarak Shehu Ladan, has said that two local government areas of the state, Kudan and Chikun, have been declared Open Defecation-Free (ODF)).

He disclosed this at an event in collaboration with UNICEF to mark the 2022 Global Hand Washing Day in Kudan and Chikun LGAs.

While noting that his agency had provided many toilet facilities in rural communities as part of effort to address open defecation, he said, “The campaign has started yielding positive results, with Kudan and Chikun LGAs now declared ODF and waiting for validation by stakeholders by December, 2022.”
