Students senitised against campus rights violations

A platform against human trafficking and other rights violations, Devatop Centre for African Development, on Wednesday, sensitised students of the FCT College of Education, Zuba, against trafficking and sex extortion.

At a one-day workshop, Devatop’s Communication Associate, Victoria Oladiran, urged the students to be cautious about who they paired with either physically or online.

She said the enlightenment was for especially female students who were more prone to the elements because the used the institutions as one of their harvesting grounds, as well as those using sex for marks.

An app, “TALKAM”, was introduced to the students for reporting harassment against them or others for prompt investigation.

The school’s Deputy Registrar, Students Affairs, Zainab Suleiman, thanked the organisers for the programme, adding that the institution would continue to handle all cases of rights violations with seriousness.
