Suspected hoodlums on Thursday set the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State ablaze.
It was gathered that the hoodlums stormed the INEC office located at Oke Iresi in Ede and set it ablaze.

The people in the area trooped out and put out the fire after the arsonists left the premises.
The INEC Head of Department of Public Education in the state, Ayoola Balogun, while confirming the incident told Daily Trust that the fire did not affect important documents.
Balogun said, “The hoodlums attacked the INEC office in Ede. They set the building ablaze. The fire affected the conference room. Material and documents in the office are intact.”
The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, also confirmed the incident and assured that it would be investigated.
She said, “Police is aware of the INEC office fire incident. The Commissioner of Police has ordered for a thorough investigation on the matter.”
The votes recorded for the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke in Ede South Local Government Area in the last governorship election in the state are among the results being challenged by the candidate of All Progressives Congress, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola at the election petition tribunal in Osogbo.
