Five persons have been arrested for stealing farm inputs worth over N11m belonging to the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) in Kebbi State.
One Tukur Yalli, it was gathered, informed the police in Zuru town that the RIFAN’S warehouse in the area was broken into and stocks such as water pumping machines, sprayers, fertiliser, and herbicides worth over N11million stolen.

The command’s spokesman, SP Nafiu Abubakar, explained that in the course of their investigation, one Faruku Bello was arrested for assisting the thieves to transport the stolen items.
He said, “When interrogated, he mentioned Sani Umar, Umar Musa, Alhaji Nura Abudllahi and Mustapha Abubakar; all of Birnin Kebbi and Gwandu LGAs. They were subsequently arrested and have confessed to the commission of the crime.”
He said investigation further revealed that Alhaji Abdullahi received all the stolen items and that so far nine water pumping machines and 45 cartons of herbicides had been recovered.
