Buhari mourns victims of Anambra chemical market explosion

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled the families of all those who lost their lives in the explosion at the Chemical Market in Onitsha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The President, in a statement issued on Wednesday by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, shared the pain of loss with those who had investments in the market and prayed that the Almighty God would grant the injured quick recovery.

President Buhari urged all emergency, humanitarian and security agencies to provide all the necessary support for the victims and ensure a thorough investigation into the incident, with a view to avoiding a recurrence in the future.

Four people were reportedly feared dead on Tuesday while 12 others were seriously injured following the explosion at the Chemical Market in Onitsha Head Bridge.

It was reported that goods worth millions of naira were also destroyed by the fire and several shops were razed.
