The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, has said that the emirate is working towards building a world-class museum to preserve its artefacts for future generations.

He said, “Zazzau Emirate will soon have a world-class museum to keep our historical artefacts. As custodians of culture, we will collect and assemble our historical heritage for future generations to see.”

He explained that the preservation of the artefacts would destroy the distorted facts and lies some people were spreading about the emirate.

He noted that the emirate had existed for about 900 years, saying that the Fulani had been ruling for about 200 years now.

On the proposed Islamic Arts Exhibition by the National Gallery of Arts, the emir said it would help promote Islamic calligraphy of Quran and other literary works.

Emir Bamalli spoke at the Kaduna Arts Exhibition with the theme: “Stories of Kaduna Arts by Young Professional Artists”, organised by the National Gallery of Arts.

In his remarks, the Director General of the National Gallery of Arts, Eberten William Ivara, represented by the North West Director, Mrs Mundung Bridget Akamai, said they would soon organise the first Islamic Arts Exhibition to showcase Islamic culture in the North West.

He explained that the Islamic Arts Exhibition would be held in four states of the North West: Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto and Zamfara.
