Sha’aban vs Sani: Apprehension in Kaduna APC as court rules on gov’ship primary today

Apprehension is growing among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State as a Federal High Court sitting in the state adjourned its ruling on the party’s primary for the second time.

Daily Trust reports that one of the aggrieved aspirants, Sani Sha’aban, is challenging the method used in the primary election that produced Senator Uba Sani as the party’s flag bearer.

Sha’aban, a former House of Representatives member, is alleging that the list of the delegates was doctored.

Daily Trust reports that the ruling on the matter was to be delivered on Monday, October 31, 2022, but was adjourned to Thursday.

It was, however, adjourned again by one day because the judgement was said not to be ready.

Our correspondent reports that the courtroom and its premises were filled to the brim with supporters as security agents tried to maintain law and order. 

Speaking to journalists outside the court, counsel to the APC, Barrister Suleiman Shuaib, said the court registrar had said the judgement would be delivered today.
