Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has rated Peter Obi, Labour Party Presidential Candidate, as a man who has the capacity to deliver.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor said this when Obi visited flood victims in the state.
- PDP Crisis: I have moved on, says Atiku
- You’re on your own, Oyo PDP leaders slam Makinde over Tinubu
Ortom’s comment comes days after his Oyo counterpart, Seyi Makinde, endorsed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 Presidential election.
Ortom and Makinde are among the five PDP governors who are calling for the resignation of Senator Iyioricha Ayu as National Chairman of the PDP.
They had pulled out of the campaign team of Atiku Abubakar, PDP Presidential Candidate, saying peace would only reign if Ayu stepped down.
But in an interview with VOA Hausa, Atiku ruled out the resignation of Ayu, saying the party had moved on from the crisis.
While speaking in Makurdi, Benue capital, Ortom described Labour Party Presidential candidate as the finest option for the country.
“If Nigeria needs to make a choice, Obi is one of the finest candidates that we have in this country. In terms of education, in terms of character, in terms of performance, in terms of reaching out, in terms of being a pan-Nigerian, in terms of industrialisation, and passion to ensure that our country is liberated from where we are, out of insecurity to security, and out of economic woes to economic vibrancy and out of lack to adequate social life, you (Obi) have the capacity to make things work.
