The football fraternity in Kano State has been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of a Kano Pillars FC and El-Kanemi Warriors legend, Musa Bello Kofar-matar, on Tuesday, November 1 in Kano.
According to a family source, Kofar-mata who was buried yesterday in Kano according to Islamic rites died in the night after a brief illness.

Born on May 12, 1988 in Kano city, Kofar-Mata started his football career in a Kano-based amateur club, Buffalos FC before joining Kano Pillars where he won the Nigeria Premier League title twice, in 2007 and 2008.
The one-time NPFL highest goal scorer represented Nigeria at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada and made his debut for the senior team in 2010 when he came on as a substitute in a 5-2 home win over the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It will also be recalled that in 2007, Kofa-mata signed a failed deal with IK Start of Norway before travelling to LASK of Australia in 2008 for trials.
In 2016, he left FC IfeanyiUbah to El-Kanemi Warriors where he played for two seasons.
Kano Pillars and El-Kanemi Warriors have expressed shock over the death of their former player.
In separate statements, the Media Officers of the NPFL clubs prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,
