NISS graduates 78 to tackle insecurity

The National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) will graduate 78 participants of its 15th Executive Management Course (EMC) next month to tackle the insecurity in Nigeria and other African countries.

The participants were drawn from military, para-military, regulatory agencies, MDAs and four African countries of Rwanda, Niger Republic, Ghana and The Gambia.

Speaking at a media parley in Abuja yesterday, NISS Commandant, A. S. Adeleke, said the 10-month programme, which started in February, would end next months with a ceremony in Abuja.

A renowned public speaker and a famous pan Africanist, Professor Patrice Lumumba is expected to deliver the keynote lecture which focuses on ‘Global Climate Challenge: Prospects and Priorities for Economic Development and Conflict Resolution in Africa.’

He said the course was designed to look at the current climate crisis and the implication for economic development and conflict resolution.

 “We have modules ranging from security, intelligence, strategic studies and we invited some technocrats and people from the academia as well including governors and traditional rulers that brought their perspectives,” he said.
