2 friends arrested for raping girl, sharing video

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two friends after they had taken turns to forcefully have sex with a girl when she visited them in their home.

Police gave the names of the suspects as Joshua Adegoke and Peter Akintunde, both 18 years old.

Police also arrested one Oluwanjoba Adetona who was threatening to upload the video of the sex footage of their victim on social media after receiving the video from his friends. 

Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, the state police commissioner, Williams Adebowale, advised parents to warn their children, especially the female ones against unnecessary visit to opposite sex without the consent of their guardians. 

He explained that the victim in company of her friend, Peter Akintunde, visited another friend, Joshua Adegoke, at his residence. The police boss said after entertainment, Peter’s friend, Joshua, invited their victim to his room for sex but she declined.

According to the police commissioner, in a bid to salvage what she sensed was getting out of hand, she innocently asked Peter to prevail on the situation but instead Peter advised her to heed to Joshua’s demands.

Adevowale further said at this point, both friends took turns to forcefully have carnal knowledge of their victim while simultaneously recording the footage.

He said Joshua deliberately transferred the video footage to another friend, one Oluwanjoba Adetona, who also reached out to the victim demanding sex in exchange for not uploading the footage on social media.

The police boss said, “The suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and are helping with the investigation.”
