The people of Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, under the auspices of Isuokoma Development Union (IDU), have condemned the attack by men of the underworld on the provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu, Professor Reuben Okechukwu and his entourage.
Professor Okechukwu was attacked on October 18, 2022, at the boundary between Isu and Agba in Ishielu Local Government Area.

In a press release signed on behalf of the Isuokoma clan by Mr Michael Njoku and Chief Alfred Chukwu, the acting president-general and secretary-general of the IDU respectively, the people stated, “We strongly condemn and dissociate ourselves from the unfortunate attack on the professor. This has further underscored the festering spate of worrisome insecurity in Nigeria, of which Ebonyi has had its significant share of experiences in recent times.
“Prof Okechukwu was accorded a warm reception by the people of Isuokoma upon his appointment as the provost of the college. And he has since forged an amazing cordial relationship with the people of the community, such that whatever affects him directly touches the spirit and soul of the host community of the institution.”
