There was confusion at Unguwar Matan-Akawu of Suleja town in Niger State at the weekend following the abduction of two children from their rented home.
A resident, Sule Mumini, told our reporter yesterday that a couple came to the community about 10 days prior to the incident and secured a room in the compound where the children lived with their parents.

Mumini said, “It was on their (couple) third day in the compound that the children went missing and the new tenants disappeared.’’
He further said that a mat, a carton and a plastic water container were the only items found when the couple’s room was forced open.
City & Crime learnt that the police have arrested the landlord of the house, as well as the agent that brought the couple.
The police spokesperson in the state, Wasiu Abioun, confirmed the incident, saying, ‘’On October 19, at about 2100hrs, two children aged five and three, both of Water Board area of Suleja, were reported missing and were suspected to have been taken away by a new tenant who just moved into the compound.”
He further confirmed that the landlord and the agent who leased the apartment to the tenant were being interrogated but not detained.
