Tinubu donates N100m to Kano flood victims

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has donated N100 million to flood victims in Kano.

Tinubu, who is in Kano on a 2-day visit, made the donation during a dinner organised in his honour by Kano business community council.

He said the donation was towards assisting and alleviating the impact of the floods on the victims in the affected local government areas.

Daily Trust reports that the state emergency management agency stated that flood was recorded in 19 out of 44 LGs of the state with 23 people dead, 106 injured, and 12,919 houses destroyed while 14, 496 farmlands were destroyed in five of the LGs.

Speaking at the dinner, Tinubu promised to ensure Nigeria’s diversity served as a source of prosperity for all of elected the president in 2023.

The APC presidential candidate pledged to reposition existing industries and make them a competitive source of industrialisation and growth, not just for the North or Kano but the entire country.

He also commended Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for his stride in infrastructural development in the state, describing the governor as a “friend and a reliable partner”.

He also promised the business community that he would provide enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.

The speakers among the business community presented their blueprint to Tinubu, calling on him to focus on power as many industries were closed due to lack of steady power supply.
