Dickson donates N11m to flood victims

The Senator representing Bayelsa West in the National Assembly, Henry Seriake Dickson, has raised N11 million for persons impacted by the flood in the constituency.

Moved by the plight of his constituents and other Bayelsans over the ravaging flooding in the state, the Senator had also donated N400,000 per 26 political wards in the zone, N5m for the flood victims in Yenagoa, and other relief items totalling over N15m.

Dickson, a former governor of the state, said the donation which is the support from his friends and other donations under the aegis of ‘Friends of Senator Dickson’ through the sub-account of Henry Seriake Dickson Foundation, is to alleviate the acute living conditions of flood victims in Bayelsa.

Senator Dickson, who conveyed his appreciation to the benevolent donors, also expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries. 

He reiterated his appeal to public-spirited individuals, NGOs, and corporations, to come to the rescue of displaced and suffering flood victims.
