The woman was said to have bolted away on noticing that the man had died.
The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said it occurred at Omidunu Street.
He said some people reported at Adeniji Adele police station that the deceased came to the hotel with a woman and that they went to knock on the door when their time had elapsed.
He said the complainant alleged that they knocked on the door several times without any response from those inside.
“On receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer detailed a team of police to the hotel.
“On arrival, the team found the door still locked from inside. The team forced the door open only to discover the man lying dead on the bed without any mark of violence on him,” he said.
Hundeyin further said that the corpse had been deposited at IDA, Yaba, for autopsy.
