Investment summit attracts N70.5bn investment – Gov Yahaya

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, yesterday said the first Investment Summit organised by the state has so far attracted over N70.5 billion investments.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the summit, the governor revealed that six companies that participated in the maiden edition of the summit have made a commitment to invest N70.5bn in the state.

He disclosed that the summit was organised because of his administration’s effort to change the economic status of the state by attracting investors from within and outside the country.

According to him, the major focus of the summit was to showcase the economic potentials of the state for the investors to explore and invest, thereby moving the people of the state out of poverty.

Governor Yahaya told the gathering that the state had enormous deposits of natural resources in minerals, oil and gas, coal, uranium, gypsum and agriculture amongst others.

He said, “Before the communiqué of the event, I will like to inform you that so far, arrangements are being consummated and deals are going to be signed today.

“You will bear witness to the fact that within these three days, six companies have made commitments to put in investments worth N70.5bn in Gombe State.”
