Kidnappers kill man after collecting ransom in Kano

Kidnappers in Kano State have killed a 42-year-old man after collecting ransom money.

The victim, identified as Ali Alhassan of Kariya village in Bebeji LGA, was kidnapped on October 2, on the Kano-Zaria road at Kwanar Dangora village.

Usman Abba Idris, a relative of the victim, told City & Crime that, “The kidnappers called and demanded N30m. They later agreed on N1,030,000

“The money was taken to them on Friday, October 7, at 9pm by one of us to a village called Kariya shortly after Kwanar Dangora.

“The kidnappers later called to inform us that they had slaughtered him. The decaying body was found on Sunday at Badafi Ward in Kiru LGA.”

The police spokesman in the state, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
