The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Strike Force, Team A, on Wednesday, said its officers recovered two rifles and 14 live ammunition from smugglers in Lagos State.
It said the suspects abandoned their vehicle and took to their heels when they sighted officers of the strike force.

City & Crime had reported that the controller of the unit penultimate Wednesday said his men stormed criminal hideouts in Ogun and recovered one automatic rifle, two locally made guns and 35 cartridges.
But speaking on the latest recovery, the Coordinator of the strike force, Mohammed Sani Yusuf, while showcasing some seizures recovered by the team in the past few months, said the guns were one pump action gun, one locally made pistol and 14 cartridges
Yusuf stated that other items seized by the team included 1,500 bags of rice, 839 bales of used clothes, 3,525 litres of petrol, 900 bags of cement, tomato paste and vehicles.
