He said the victims of human trafficking were intercepted and rescued by the personnel of immigration in the state along the Kazaure-Daura road.

Bagari explained that the victims were intercepted on Friday as they were about to leave the country for Europe via Niger Republic and Libya.

He said the personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service, after a tip-off and credible intelligence about the movement of the victims from Kano to Niger through Kazaure, mounted a stop-and-search exercise at the checkpoint at Tsamiyar Ilu in Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The comptroller said the victims, including eight females, who were between the ages of 22 and 37, hailed from Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Enugu states.
