A support group of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Atiku Youth Connect (AYC), has called on Nigerians to expect reforms that will turn the fortunes of the country around if Abubakar is elected as president of the country in the 2023 presidential election.
The director-general of AYC, Hajia Hassana Shuaibu Dada, at a rally in Abuja, in support of the presidential bid of the PDP candidate, said as Vice President from 1999 to 2007, Abubakar brought on board a number of reforms into the country which are still standing till date.
“We believe in the plans and programmes of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that’s why we are here to show our support for him.
“He is the only one out of all the presidential candidates that can save and rescue the country from the myriads of problems facing the country.
“Some of the things Atiku brought on board as number two man in the country are still standing to date.
“This time around, Nigerians should expect a lot of changes in his government as president, if elected, in the area of health, education, transportation and so many other sectors of the economy. Atiku believes in one Nigeria and does not discriminate”, she said.
Also, the chief of staff to the PDP Chairman, Mr Andrew Enatome, who also spoke at the rally, said Abubakar is going to build a government of national unity.
According to him, hunger, insecurity, collapsed economy and many other things that are on the verge of decay will receive attention.
He said, “Atiku is going to build a government of national unity.
“If you look at our policy document, we talked about resetting, restructuring the country, addressing insecurity and creating an enabling environment for a thriving economy.
“The PDP is not coming to play, the government is a serious business and we mean business. Nigeria is collapsing and is on the verge of decay, so we need someone with a high level of experience to revive it.
“The government will be built based on 21st-century democracy and the ASUU strike is going to be a thing of the past. The youths are going to play a major and significant role in the government of Atiku Abubakar if elected as president.”
