Don’t give up, NACOMYO urges Nigerians

The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Lagos State chapter has charged Nigerians not to give up while calling on governments at all levels to live up to the expectations from citizens.

Coordinator of NACOMYO in Lagos, Alhaji Isiaka Salami who spoke during a press briefing to mark the 62nd Independence anniversary said Nigerians should continue to put the government on its toes “to ensure it carries out the duty it is mandated to do.”

“The need to unite as a country is more impressive at this time. The country is experiencing daunting challenges; thus, it is only through unity and support that we can collectively lead the state from its current quagmire,” he said.

Following the ban on Okada in Lagos State, NACOMYO called on the state government to follow up the ban by addressing the issue of the deplorable state of most access roads in the State.

“It is only when our roads are motor-able in all parts of the State that an effective transportation system could be created which will bring about rapid economic growth and ultimately confine the use of Okada to history,” the council said.
