The Federal Government has kick begun the implementation of the Executive Order 5.
The Minister of State for Science Technology and Innovation (STI), Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, who unveiled the implementation strategy in Abuja on Wednesday, admitted that the role of Science Technology and Innovation (STI) in the country’s developmental equation had not been fully utilized.

The minister, represented by Permanent Secretary Monilola Udoh, said it had become necessary to establish six technology and innovation centres to assist in closing the gaps in research works as they are taking place in silos.
According to Ikoh, the Executive Order No 5 is aimed at placing the Nigerian professionals and manufacturers at the centre of the Nigerian economy.
