The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), has confirmed a human rights advocate, Sunusi Musa, and 60 other lawyers as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN).
The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary to LPPC, Hajo Bello, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

The rank of SAN is awarded as a mark of excellence to legal professionals who have distinguished themselves as advocates and academics.
Born in Kano State in 1978, Musa attended Government Secondary School, Gwale from 1992 to 1994.
After graduating from Kano State College of Arts and Science in 1997 he moved to Kano State Polytechnic, where he bagged a Diploma in Law in 2000.
Musa earned Bachelor of Law (Hons) (LLB) from Bayero University, Kano, in 2005 and moved to Nigerian Law School where he graduated in 2006 with Barrister at Law (BL).
He also bagged Post Graduate Diploma in Education from University of Maiduguri in 2009; Masters in Legislative Drafting from University of Benin, 2016.
His chamber, Proprietor Aliyu & Musa Legal Practitioners and Consultants, has served as a leader of various litigation teams that handle various matters at conventional courts and specialized tribunals and has successfully conducted to completion, seven Supreme Court, eight Court of Appeal and more than 25 trial courts cases.
Musa was a member of the team that represented the victims of Apo shootings and secured judgment against the Nigeria Government at Community Court of ECOWAS in 2013, and another at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.
Recall that in June this year, the LPPC released a shortlist of 129 lawyers and after rigorous vetting, the committee pruned down the number to 62 for the award of the prestigious rank.
Among the 62 are two prosecutors with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The meeting further approved new guidelines for the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria and all matters pertaining to the rank to guide future exercises.
