At least three persons have been killed and over 500 rendered homeless as River Niger/Benue overflowed its banks and flooded Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The lawmaker representing the Ibaji Constituency in the kogi House of Assembly, Hon. Atule Egbunu, confirmed this in Lokoja in an interview on Wednesday night.

According to Egbunu, thousands of houses and farmlands have been flooded, an incident he described as “unfortunate annual disaster.”
He described the natural disaster as devastating, saying that it had become difficult to relocate the victims to a safer place.
The lawmaker appealed to the state and federal governments as well as the international community to come to the aid of his people.
