A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has reaffirmed his opposition to the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket of Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 elections.
He said having rejected the same faith ticket, they are currently consulting with relevant Islamic and Christian leaders in the country, to collectively adopt a formidable pan-Nigerian platform that all of them will support in 2023.

Dogara spoke in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, at the weekend at a magazine launch and awards ceremony organised by Mupun Youths Association.
Dogara, who was represented by a former member who represented Pankshin, Kanke Kanam federal constituency of Plateau State, Hon. Timothy Golu, said, “We rose against the same faith ticket because of its divisive tendencies.”
But supporters of the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have cautioned Dogara and a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal to retrace their steps and “stop overheating the polity” over the issue of same faith ticket.
Speaking in Abuja at the launch of Asiwaju Trumpeters, its Deputy National Coordinator, Barrister Lookman Alawaye, cautioned Lawal and Dogara against “Stoking the embers of hatred, animosity and bigotry. We appeal to them to be calm and retrace their steps and see reason with us.”
