Gombe State Police Command said it had arrested a suspected kidnapper, Mohammed Aminu, while collecting N300,000 ransom paid by the family of his kidnapped victim in a bank.
The command’s spokesman, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen yesterday in Gombe.

He said the suspect, a resident of Tudun Wada quarters of Gombe metropolis was arrested on September 15 by police detectives attached to X squad state Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He said on September 14, a day before he was arrested, the sum of N100,000 was paid into his account in one of the commercial banks, bearing the account name; Mohammed Al’Amin Muhammad.
Abubakar added that during the investigation, the suspect revealed that he conspired with one Saidu Salisu (Soja) and Turkani, who is still at large, to kidnap one Jibrin Muhammad from Bantaje village in Wukari LGA of Taraba State.
