Man, 55, arraigned over plantain theft

A 55-year-old man, Sule Mosudi, was on Tuesday docked before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly stealing a bunch of plantain worth N4,000 from a farmland.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mosudi of Abanla area, Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan, was arraigned on a count charge of stealing.

 The prosecutor, ASP Foluke Oladosu told the court that defendant allegedly committed the offence on Sept. 4, at Abanla area of Ibadan.

 Oladosu told the court that the bunch of plantain was allegedly stolen from one Sikiru Oseni farm at Iyana Ikija, Abanla, Ibadan.

  The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and his lawyer, Mr Bode Akinbi urged the court to grant the defendant bail on liberal terms.

 The Magistrate, Mrs I. O. Osho granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter until Oct. 10, for hearing. (NAN)
