Man, 59, charged with destroying structure

A businessman, Leonard Okejiri (59), has been charged before an Abuja magistrates’ court for destroying a makeshift apartment better known as “batcher” in Peace Village of Lugbe area in the FCT.

The prosecutor, Bob Manuel, told the court that on August 21, without any provocation, the accused went and destroyed a wood and zinc structure belonging to one Solomon Attah of Tudun Wada village valued at N240,000.

The defendant denied the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 and a surety in like sum.

The Magistrate, Theresa Nten Otu, adjourned the case to October 11.
