A high court sitting in Benin, Edo State, Thursday granted bail to the Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council (BTC), Frank Irabor, and six others persons over the demolition of buildings at Ulegun community in Ikpoba-Okha LGA.
Justice Mary Itsueli granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N1m each with a surety in like sum pending the final determination of the case at a later date.

The court’s decision came after a bail application by the defence counsel, Olayiwola Afolabi, which was not opposed to by Odabi Kingsley, Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Recall that last week Thursday, the court remanded the accused persons in a correctional centre pending the receipt of advice from the DPP.
The accused are Frank Irabor, Oko-Oboh Ebosele, Aghavbere Osawemwenguan, Abel Oko-Oboh, Tuesday Atagamene, Okechukwu Okeke and Ode Uloko.
They are accused of illegal demolition of about 60 houses at Ulegun community.
