Zulum gives volunteers fighting Boko Haram N14.5m, 1,366 bags of grains

The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, has distributed N14.5 million with 1,366 bags of food items to 683 volunteers helping the military to fight Boko Haram in Bama Local Government Area.

The governor, who addressed the volunteers on Thursday in Bama town, directed that the four leaders of the volunteers be paid N250,000 each, while the remaining 679 others which comprise 313 members of the Civilian JTF, 105 hunters, 155 vigilantes and 110 members of a border vigilante group called Kesh-Kesh be paid N20,000 each.

Zulum also gave a bag of rice, a bag maize, a gallon of vegetable oil and 10 yards of brocade to each of the 683 volunteers.
