Military distributes wheelchairs, foodstuff in Plateau

The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security task force maintaining peace in Plateau State and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, has distributed 220 wheelchairs and food items to physically challenged people in Jos, Plateau State.

The Commander of OPSH and General Officer Commanding 3 Division (3Div) of the Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Ibrahim Ali, while speaking at the event on Saturday, said the gesture was to enhance peace and make the beneficiaries feel a sense of belonging.

The commander said the physically challenged people were drawn from the 17 LGAs of the state, adding that the distribution of the wheelchairs and food items was part of OPSH’s civil-military cooperation.

One of the beneficiaries, Pastor Gu Gwong, thanked the military for the gesture, saying, “The gesture would go a long way to better our lives.”
