Suspected pirates kill one in Rivers

Suspected sea pirates have shot dead one boat passenger along Billie waterways in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Iringe Grace Koko, SP, who confirmed the story to our reporter in Port Harcourt on Saturday said the incident occurred on Friday.

She said other passengers who sustained bullet injuries have been taken to hospital for treatment.

An indigene of the community, Bebe Oyigbo, told reporters in Port Harcourt that the passengers were on their way from Billie to Port Harcourt when the gunmen suspected to be sea pirates opened fire on the boat.
