Heavy rainfall has demolished many houses in Tudun Osi of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Our correspondent reports that the downpour started on Wednesday afternoon when everyone was going about their normal activities, adding that the residents were seen packing their belongings after the destruction by the flood.

Daily Trust reports that for more than a decade, the affected community has been experiencing incidents of flooding with reports indicating that many people lost their lives including homes.
On the Wednesdays incident, more than hundred houses were affected by the flood with over fifty homes destroyed. The affected residents said apart from the buildings, the heavy rainfall had also destroyed their properties including clothes, food items among others.
Ashir Umar, a victim of the downpour said, “The flood has taken us by surprise. We never expected it. The heavy rain has destroyed my house and that of my neighbour. The entire family has lost a lot. It was a very bad situation. If this has happened in the night, it would been disastrous. We thank Allah that it happened during the day time. We are calling on government and other spirited individuals to come to our aide.”
Ibrahim Hassan, another resident said, “It was a flood that put us in this situation. That is what Allah has permitted to happen to us. We have no words to say than to seek Allah’s help for what has happened to us. I have lost a lot to the incident. The fence of my house has fallen.”
Some victims prayed that such a disaster should not happen to them again, calling on the government to help them with building materials to cushion the effect of the incident.
