I sold my boss’ jeep to fund my trip abroad – Suspect

A 21-year-old man, Temple Samuel, who was arrested by the police in Lagos State, has confessed that he sold his boss’ Lexus 330 to fund his trip abroad.

The suspect, alongside three others, who was arrested in the Ogba area of the state, said, “My intention of running away with my oga’s car was to sell it and use the proceeds to process my trip abroad.

“I had long wanted to travel out of the country to go and hustle. It is not easy to survive in Nigeria that was why I wanted to sell the car.”

The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, identified the others arrested with Samuel as Benjamin Bassey (32), Chukwuemeka Okorie (29) and Joshua Agboche (37).

Hundeyin said Samuel and the three conspired to sell the vehicle.

He further said the investigation revealed that Samuel who worked in his boss’ car wash at Egbeda area, drove the car away in the middle of the night, along with his boss’ iPhone X and iPhone 13 and later transferred N75,000 from his boss’ account.

Hundeyin added that, “The suspect had perfected plans to use the proceeds of the sales of the car and other valuables he stole to process his travelling out of the country.”
